A roller bearing comprises an outer bearing member 15 having a conical race 21 and a thrust rib 25 at one end, an inner bearing member 16 having a cylindrical race 20, and longitudinally crowned conical or tapering rollers 17 between the races, running adjacent the rib 25 and being maintained in alignment thereby. The rollers have spherical end faces 24 abutting the thrust rib 25 which has a similar spherical surface. The apex point A of each roller forms the centre for the radius R of the spherical mating surfaces. Axial movement of the inner race 16 is limited in one direction by a thrust rib 19 integral therewith. A double row roller bearing shown in Fig. 3 comprises an outer member 29 having conical races 30, 31 and thrust ribs 32, 33, and an inner cylindrical race 27 having a thrust rib 26 at one or each end thereof.
