The device has transport apparatus (20) having circulating strap elements (21-24) at which flexible mat element (40) is arranged. The gear elements (11-16) are in active connection with strap elements to move mat element from supply plane (2) into exhausting plane (3) and arranged to form stroke zone (4) and transportation zone (5). A standing area (48) of mat element is aligned in stroke zone vertically to mat element traveling direction and in transportation zone in direction parallel to traveling direction. A damping element (60) is arranged to work against oscillations at mat element.
