Provided is a radio communication system using CO-Channel (CO-CH) to improve a reception quality at low cost. The radio communication system includes: a transmitter that transmits a first polarized signal and a second polarized signal to a receiver and terminates the transmission of the second polarized signal in accordance with an instruction from the receiver; and the receiver that receives the polarized signal from the transmitter, determines whether or not a reception quality of the second polarized signal becomes lower than a threshold value, and issues an instruction to the transmitter to terminate transmission of the second polarized signal to the transmitter when the reception quality becomes less than the threshold value.
