PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor high in capacity and excellent in durability. SOLUTION: The capacitor includes: a positive electrode in which a positive electrode active material mainly composed of an active carbon is filled into a porous body mainly composed of aluminum; a negative electrode prepared by coating a negative electrode active material on a metal foil, the negative electrode active material being mainly composed of a carbon material that can absorb and desorb a lithium ion; and a nonaqueous electrolyte containing lithium salt. A lithium ion is absorbed in the negative electrode by a chemical or electrochemical method. An aluminum content of the aluminum porous body is preferably 95 wt.% or more.
