Disclosed are a terminal capable of reducing a noise, and a method for controlling the noise. The terminal comprises the following: a noise reception module receiving a noise signal from surroundings; a signal conversion module converting the noise signal into a surrounding noise signal, which is a digital signal; a sound generation module generating an input sound signal according to a user command; a noise control module confirming whether the surrounding noise signal is inputted based on the current operation mode, generating a noise reduced signal, namely the surrounding noise signal of which noise is reduced, if the surrounding noise signal is inputted, and generating an output sound signal which is a combination of the input sound signal and the noise reduced signal; and an output sound signal transmission module transmitting the output sound signal to an external output device. |
