The exchanger (18) has a heat exchanger block (20) provided with two end plates (25, 26), which are arranged on two opposite sides of the heat exchanger block. The end plates are provided with chambers (27, 28, 29) for diverting, collecting and/or distributing an operating medium. A working medium channel system (23) is fluidically connected to the chambers of the end plates. A bearing mat (32) is arranged between an outer housing (19) and one of the end plates. The end plates are spaced apart in a height direction (33). The bearing mat is extended over the end plates. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine for a motor car.
