PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly determine presence or absence of a sheet at a predetermined position at a predetermined timing irrespective of a sheet feeding form.SOLUTION: A sheet processing device 20 includes: a sheet detector 100 that detects presence or absence of a sheet 1 at a predetermined position; a timing detector 101 that counts a sheet detection timing at which the sheet detector 100 detects presence or absence of the sheet 1; and a control unit 110 that determines, based on the result of detection by the sheet detector 100, whether transport of the sheet 1 is abnormal. When sheets are intermittently fed, at a timing at which the sheet 1 should be present at the predetermined position out of timings detected by the timing detector 101, the control unit 110 determines that presence of the sheet 1 is normal and absence of the sheet 1 is abnormal. At a timing at which the sheet 1 should not be present at the predetermined position out of the sheet detection timings, the control unit 110 determines that absence of the sheet 1 is normal and presence of the sheet is abnormal. |
