A mobility device (10) has an elongate handle housing (20) that includes an electronic directing system that comprises a computer microcontroller (32) operably connected with a transceiver (64) for communicating with an electronic beacon (60). The mobility device (10) may be used to trigger an audible signal from the electronic beacon (60) to guide a visually impaired person (12) to the electronic beacon (60) at a desired location (50).
