<p>The present disclosure is directed towards the design of a utility knife including a handle and a blade housing, wherein the blade housing may be fixedly connected to the handle, the blade housing may be telescopically movable in and out of the handle, or the blade housing may be pivotally connected to the handle. The blade housing comprises a slide mechanism to extend the blade out of the blade housing during use, and to retract the blade into the blade housing for storage.
