<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material containing silicon, for instance, a negative electrode material effective for a negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which has a high first-time charge/discharge efficiency and excellent cycle characteristics, while keeping advantages of a high battery capacity and a low volume expansion ratio of a silicon oxide-based material, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is formed of conductive powder in which the surface of powder formed of a material capable of storing and releasing at least lithium ions containing silicon is covered with a graphite film. As for the conductive powder, when having measured Raman spectrum of each particle obtained by randomly extracting 20 particles in the conductive powder, and having measured an intensity ratio I/Iof a peak Iof the silicon appearing at 500 cmand a peak Iof the graphite appearing at 1580 cm, a standard deviationσof I/Iof the obtained 20 particles satisfies a relationship ofσ≤10.</p> |
