The method involves carrying out filling of a thermal solar system (1) with water from a heating system (4) by using an automatic valve in a bypass (5) during operation of the solar system. The automatic valve is closed and opened by pressure or fill level sensors. A return line or a forward line of the heating system is connected with a solar return line or a solar forward line of the solar system. A membrane expansion valve (6) or a pressure buffer is used during filling of the solar system for increasing filling volume flow of the solar system. An independent claim is also included for a solar system.
