a first substrate; a second substrate opposed to the first substrate; an electro-optical material retained between the first substrate and the second substrate; a first seal member combining the first substrate and the second substrate together and sealing the electro-optical material; and a second seal member formed along an outer periphery of the first seal member and containing a plurality of first particles and a plurality of second particles larger in diameter than the first particles, wherein the first particles are located between the first substrate and the second substrate, and the second particles are located on an outer side of the region where the first particles are located. |
