A sensor equipped wheel support bearing apparatus comprising: a bearing assembly including an outer member having an inner periphery formed with a plurality of rolling surfaces, an inner member having an outer periphery formed with rolling surfaces held in face to face relation with the rolling surfaces of the outer member, a plurality of rows of rolling elements interposed between the respective rolling surfaces in the outer member and the inner member; at least one or more sensor to detect a load acting on the bearing assembly, a signal processor to process an output signal from each sensor to generate a signal vector, and a load calculator to calculate a load acting on the vehicle wheel from the signal vector; wherein the load calculator has a function to determine the presence or absence of a predetermined state in a vehicle that affects a result of calculation of the load, and to perform two types of calculations that correspond respectively to the presence and absence of the state, wherein the presence or absence of the predetermined state in the vehicle determined by the load calculator is ON or OFF of a brake, and wherein the load calculator calculates at least a load Fx which acts in a forward and rearward direction of the wheel support bearing assembly and determines the ON or OFF of the brake by utilizing the calculation results in the form of the load Fx that acts in the forward and rearward direction.
