The purpose of the present invention is to provide a bonnet locking device for a heavy-duty vehicle, which can contribute to a quiet operation of a latch, stability of a locked state, and reduction of operation noises by reducing friction resistance and freeplay between the latch and a latch groove while locking or unlocking a bonnet. The bonnet locking device for a heavy-duty vehicle comprises a locking lever attached to a bracket of a bonnet side by a hinge, a key assembly including a retractable latch housed in a cylinder integrated with a free end of the locking lever, and a latch locking unit attached to a vehicle body side to lock the latch of the key assembly, wherein a latch groove and the latch of the key assembly are replaced with a rail type latch groove and a rail type latch corresponding to the rail type latch groove to change a rectangular area contact, of which friction resistance is high, to a linear contact between the latch groove and the latch, thereby achieving minimization of friction resistance and freeplay. |
