A future travel event associated with a user scheduled to take place within a determined time interval is detected 402 and a notification 408 is provided at a device associated with the user suggesting media having a playback time greater or equal to the duration of the travel event to be downloaded for playback during the travel. On receipt of user consent the content is downloaded 410 to the device. The notification may be timed to ensure sufficient time to download the content remains before the travel event. Download may take place when it is detected that the device is in an area with Wi-fi access 404 and the suggested media may be determined based on a media profile associated with the user. The download may be automatic and not require consent. The travel event may be determined based on information contained within an email, text, voicemail or a search conducted by the user. The event may be a flight, bus ride or train ride. If the event is a flight the notification may comprise flight number, date and duration. The media content may be previously purchased, freely accessible or promotional. The device may delete old or viewed data prior to initiating the download. |
