Half die and press tool

The die half (2) has a crimping contour (5), which is expanded from a crimping state into a release state after performing actual crimping process. Dimension of the crimping contour transverse to a crimping axis (4) in the crimping state is smaller than dimension of the crimping contour in the release state. The die half is formed with die half parts, which are relatively moved together. The die half parts form a crimping contour part of the crimping contour. The die half parts possess an opening (34) in a direction of the crimping axis below the crimping contour. An independent claim is also included for a crimping tool comprising a die half and a drive device.
