PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve drying performance when a drying operation is started when warm water washing is performed in washing.SOLUTION: The washing and drying machine includes: a heat pump device 41; an air channel 19 in which a radiator 23 and a heat sink 22 are disposed for introducing drying air to a drum 4; a blower 21 for blowing air to the air channel 19; a heating means 30 for heating a compressor 25; a compressor temperature detection means 31 for detecting a temperature of the compressor 25; a water temperature detection means 15 for detecting a temperature of washing water in a water tub 1; and a control means 35 for controlling a washing operation and a drying operation. The control means 35 detects temperatures of the washing water and the compressor 25 before activating the compressor 25 when a warm water washing is set by a warm water washing-setting means 36d, and heats the compressor 25 when the temperature of the washing water is higher than the temperature of the compressor 25.
