The valve (30) has a body (32) comprising an entirely open bottom surface (44), a side wall (42) and three inlet or outlet openings (36-40). The opening (36) is formed on the bottom surface. The other two openings (38, 40) are formed on the side wall. A rotary unit (34) is moved inside the body in a manner to control passage of air through the openings (38, 40) with a rule defined according to an angular position of the rotary unit in the body. The rotary unit has a rotation axis, in which the openings (38, 40) comprise an elongated shape along the rotation axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an engine using an air supplying circuit.
