<p>An apparatus includes a datum. The datum has a first portion configured to interface with a work-piece having a critical surface associated with a fit-and-finish surface. The datum has a second portion configured to interface with a mating structure. The datum is adjusted in such a way that the datum facilitates placement of the critical surface within acceptable tolerance to the fit-and-finish surface once the datum is placed between the work-piece and the mating structure, and the work-piece is installed to the mating structure.</p> |
