PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging reading device capable of shortening time until the start of a reading process even if an acquisition process of acquiring initialization data is executed in a configuration in which a switch gear is switched between a conveyance section side position and a carriage side position.SOLUTION: An image reading device includes a reading section held by a carriage and reading an image of a manuscript conveyed by a conveyance section, a switch gear, and a control section. The switch gear is switched between a carriage side position (FB side position) at the time of movement reading (FB reading) and a conveyance section side position (ADF side position) at the time of conveyance reading (ADF reading). The control section executes a switch process (step S110) of switching the position of the switch gear between the conveyance section side position and the carriage side position, and acquisition processes (steps S120, S122) of acquiring initialization data for initializing the reading section, and executes the acquisition processes at the time of the switch process. |
