<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail drive device which prevents the occurrences of an excessive load and abnormal contact in a support related portion of a pressurizing mechanism and thereby avoids damages of the support related portion even if the contact state between a handrail and the pressurizing mechanism changes.SOLUTION: A handrail drive device 19 includes: a drive sheave 3 which drives a handrail 2; a pressurizing mechanism 6 including multiple rollers 7 which press the handrail against the drive sheave; a pair of brackets 10, 13 which support the pressurizing mechanism on a truss housing 1; and a load mechanism 14 which causes the pressurizing mechanism to generate a tensile force. Both ends of the pressurizing mechanism are rotatably supported by the corresponding brackets.</p> |
