Disclosed is a tool magazine wherein long tools and other tools can reasonably coexist. Further disclosed is a machining center provided with this tool magazine. The tool magazine comprises a rotating magazine body and a plurality of tool-holding sections provided to the magazine body. The tool-holding sections move in succession to a tool-exchanging position. Some or all of the aforementioned tool-holding sections can switch between an exchanging stance, wherein the tools are held in a direction that is parallel to the direction of the axis of revolution of the magazine body, and a moving stance, wherein the tools are held in a direction that is along a plane that is perpendicular to the direction of the axis of rotation of the magazine body. When the aforementioned tool-holding sections that can switch stance are positioned in the tool-exchanging position, the tool-holding sections shift to the exchanging stance, and when the tool-holding sections depart the tool-exchanging position, the tool-holding sections shift to the moving stance. The machining center is provided with the abovementioned tool magazine. |
