PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing device and a sheet processing method, which are capable of preventing wrong processing from being applied to a sheet.SOLUTION: A sheet processing device 1 includes: a transport part 2 for transporting a sheet; process treatment parts 3, 4, 5 having a sheet processing blade 23 detachably attached to a processing blade attachment part, the blade applying a given process treatment to the sheet transported by the transport part 2; a setup part 221 for setting process treatment information for the sheet; a control part 6 for controlling operations of the transport part 2 and process treatment parts 3, 4, 5 on the basis of the process treatment information set by the setup part 221; and reading means for reading identifier information held by the sheet process blade 23 attached to the process blade attachment part. Further, the control part 6 controls the transport part 2 and process treatment parts 3, 4, 5 on the basis of a result of the reading means reading. |
