<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermostat device for a vehicular engine capable of preventing degradation of oil, improving fuel consumption, and improving responsiveness of a thermostat.SOLUTION: When an engine (1) is in a cool condition, a thermal expansion body (47) contracts to move a temperature sensitive part (49) and a shut-off valve (58) in a direction in which a valve (46) is closed, so as to close a cooling water passage (30) and open a bypass oil passage (59). On the other hand, after the engine (1) is warmed up, the thermal expansion body (47) expands to move the temperature sensitive part (49) and the shut-off valve (58) in a direction in which the valve (46) is opened, so as to open the cooling water passage (30) and close the bypass oil passage (59).</p> |
