The present invention relates to methods and assays for identifying agents capable of down- regulating Th2 responses in cells, in particular agents inhibiting Th2 responses. Such inhibition is useful in the prevention, amelioration and/or treatment of many diseases related to imbalance in Th1/Th2 responses. In particular, the present invention provides methods and assays for identifying agents for use in the prevention and/or treatment of asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, fibrosis, atherosclerosis, ulcerative colitis, inflammatory bowel disease, glomerulonephritis, cryoglobulinemia, immune deficiency, rhinoconjunctivitis, anaphylaxis and cancers. The invention provides polypeptide and nucleic acid TARGETs and siRNA sequences based on these TARGETs. |
