COMBINATION NMR AND DIELECTRIC MEASUREMENT

Technologies applicable to detection and characterization of subsurface contaminants by NMR and dielectric measurements are disclosed. The disclosed technologies include methods for obtaining and combining data from NMR and dielectric measurements to detect, quantify, and characterize non-native non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) contaminants located in geologic materials.

1. A combined Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and dielectric method, comprising:
obtaining at least one measurement of NMR properties of a subsurface volume; obtaining at least one measurement of dielectric properties of an overlapping subsurface volume; and using a combination of the obtained NMR properties and the obtained dielectric properties to detect or characterize non-native Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (NAPL) contamination contained in the subsurface volume.
