An integrated circuit, IC, for implementing multiple-input multiple-output, MIMO, operation, the IC comprising a receiver comprising a first receiver circuit (20) and a second receiver circuit (30), each including a downconverter (24) and configured to process a signal from a corresponding one of first and second antennas (12, 14), the first receiver circuit (20) configured to downconvert a first receive signal detected by the first antenna (12) to produce a first baseband signal, the second receiver circuit (30) configured to downconvert a second receive signal detected by the second antenna (14) to produce a second baseband signal; and a transmitter comprising a first transmitter circuit (60) and a second transmitter circuit (40), the first transmitter circuit (60) including a first power amplifier (50), a first bandpass filter (48) and a first upconverter (46) configured to upconvert a first baseband transmit signal to generate a first radio frequency signal that is coupled to the first antenna (12) for transmission, the second transmitter circuit (40) including a second power amplifier (50), a second bandpass filter (48) and a second upconverter (46) configured to upconvert a second baseband transmit signal to generate a second radio frequency signal that is coupled to the second antenna (14) for transmission, wherein local oscillator signal center frequencies used by the downconverters (24) and the upconverters (46) are controlled by the same radio frequency center frequency control signal. |
