The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a super absorbent resin. A method for manufacturing a super absorbent resin comprises the steps of: forming a first polymer by thermal-polymerizing and photo-polymerizing a monomer composition including a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a polymerization initiator; forming a second polymer by thermal-polymerizing and photo-polymerizing the monomer composition including the water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer and the polymerization initiator; drying the first polymer; pulverizing the dried first polymer; and mixing the pulverized first polymer and the second polymer freely swelled by using a cross-linking solution to make the first polymer react by cross-linking with the second polymer. According to the present invention, the high absorbent resin having water holding capacity and pressure absorption can be acquired.
