The present invention provides an apparatus for assisting a lane comprising: a first sensing part for sensing current surrounding object information of a lane to be changed by being synchronized with operation of a turn signal lamp of a vehicle; a control part for receiving the current surrounding object information sensed from the first sensing part, and including the range of pre-set standard surrounding object information; a first determining part for determining whether the current surrounding object information sensed from the first sensing part is within the range of the standard surrounding object information or not according to control of the control part; and a first operating part for operating a steering device of the vehicle to maintain the vehicle to be in the current lane according to control of the control part if the first determining part determines that the current surrounding object information is within the range of the standard surrounding object information, or to change a lane of the vehicle to a lane to be changed according to control of the control part if the first determining part determines that the current surrounding object information is out of the range of the standard surrounding object information; and a method for assisting a lane. |
