<p>Provided is a chromene compound which has a sulfur-containing substitute represented by formula (2) at the carbon atom in the 6-position and/or the 7-position of an indeno(2,1-f)naphtho(1,2-b)pyran structure. This chromene compound has excellent photochromic characteristics, while exhibiting excellent stability at high temperatures.
