A monorail driving device and a control method thereof are disclosed. The monorail driving device according to the present invention comprises: a main frame part coupled to the lower part of a vehicle part and having bumper parts coupled to the front and rear sides; a driving part coupled to the lower part of the main frame part and having first and second driving units for providing driving force to a bogie part using current received from a power supply part; a braking part for obtaining braking force by decelerating the rotation speed of the first and second driving units; and a control part for controlling the first and second driving units and the braking part. The first and second driving units simultaneously or individually provide driving force to the bogie part according to driving situations not only to stably drive a monorail in a low speed and high torque section, such as when the monorail goes to an uphill road, but also to recharge the power supply part in a deceleration section, such as when the monorail goes to a downhill road, thereby increasing the driving efficiency of the monorail. |
