The present invention relates to an electronic device and method to control touch sensitivity on the electronic device. The method to control the touch sensitivity includes: estimating in consideration to at least one of the location information on the electronic device, and humidity and temperature changes whether a water layer is formed on the surface of a touchscreen; and adjusting the touch detection sensitivity of the touchscreen when it is estimated that the water layer is formed on the surface of the touchscreen.
