The method involves detecting an rear inner wheel of a motor vehicle (10), interior to the turn of a non-motive train according to a rotation direction of a steering wheel of the vehicle. The difference between measured speeds of wheels of the non-motive train is calculated (16). Theoretical variation speeds of the wheels of the non-motive train are calculated (14). The eminence of a rising of the inner wheel of the non-motive train is detected (18) when the difference between the measured speeds and the theoretical variation is higher than a threshold. An independent claim is also included for a device for detecting raise of an inner wheel of a motor vehicle.
