There is provided an imaging apparatus including: an imaging device that includes a plurality of pairs of phase difference detection pixels, where a plurality of phase difference lines along pupil division directions is disposed in an orthogonal direction which is orthogonal to the pupil division direction; a detection unit that detects an abnormal value among output values, which are output by the phase difference detection pixels, on the basis of a result of comparison of the output values between the plurality of phase difference lines; and a phase difference line determination unit that determines, as used lines, a plurality of phase difference lines, which are used in phase difference detection, among the plurality of phase difference lines in a phase difference detection region, on the basis of a detection result which is obtained by the detection unit. |
