PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereo image generation device capable of imaging a stereo image with high pixel without using two imaging means with high pixel, and to provide a stereo image generation method.SOLUTION: A first imaging part 10-1 has an optical zoom function, and outputs a first captured image with high pixel, and a second imaging part 10-2 has an electronic zoom function, and outputs a second captured image with lower pixel than that of the first imaging part 10-1. When a zoom magnification is lower than a predetermined magnification, an image resizing part 24 converts the first and second captured images into a third pixel number, and when the zoom magnification is higher than the predetermined magnification, the image resizing part 24 converts the first and second captured images into a fourth pixel number. An image encoding part 27 encodes the first and second captured images converted by the image resizing part 24, respectively, and a stereo image format conversion part 28 converts the first and second captured images encoded by the image encoding part 27 into stereo image formats and generate stereo images, respectively. |
