This invention relates to a method of making a container having a separable inner lining and outer shell, and in particular to methods of lining a container with a pre- formed lining. This invention also relates to apparatus for use in such methods. A method of lining a container with a pre-formed flexible plastics lining, the container having an opening and a rim extending around the opening and at least a part of the lining substantially conforming to an internal shape of the container, comprises inserting the lining into the container so that a first part of the lining is in contact with internal surfaces of the container and a second part of the lining protrudes from the opening of the container; adhering the first part of the lining to the internal surfaces of the container; adhering a tab to an external surface of the container so that a first part of the tab is adhered to the surface and a second part of the tab is not adhered to the surface, the adherence between the first part of the tab and the container being such that the tab can subsequently be peeled and separated from the external surface; and conforming the second part of the lining to the external surface of the container such that the second part of the lining at least partially covers the first part of the tab. |
