A period composed of a total of three periods, namely, a period during which an actual voltage vector (V0) is adopted and the periods (Ud) preceding and following said period, can be regarded as an insulation period for insulating an actual voltage vector (V4) near a point where switching takes place for a current source converter (2) to commutate. If the switching takes place at the current source converter (2) in this insulation period, zero-current switching can be achieved. As such, when the presence of a dead time (td) is taken into consideration, the range of timing for achieving the zero-current switching can be expanded by the length of the dead time (td) than when the presence of the dead time (td) is not taken into consideration. |
