The coolant pump has an impeller (6) which is inserted in a coolant chamber (23) of a pump casing (3) to promote flow volume of the coolant. An adjustable guide plate (12) adjusts the flow volume of coolant in axial direction of the impeller. Two seal portions (29,32,34) arranges between pump housing and pump shaft for sealing the coolant-side. An interface arranges between oil chamber (9) and coolant chamber. A push rod (18) is supported sealingly and is arranged between housing cover and pump shaft, from which a reservoir (33) is formed between seal portions.
