<p>A cable modem supporting a media gateway control protocol and a session initiation protocol is disclosed. The cable modem comprises a communicating module for communicating with a trivial file transfer protocol server to obtain a file comprising a plurality of voice over IP (VoIP) related setting parameters; an analyzing module for generating at least one analytic result according to the plurality of VoIP related setting parameters of the file; and a selecting module for selecting the media gateway control protocol or the session initiation protocol as the VoIP communication protocol of the cable modem according to the at least one analytic result.</p> |
