FLAME-RETARDANT POLYCARBONATE RESIN COMPOSITION

The present invention provides a flame-retardant polycarbonate resin composition which is superior in flame retardancy and causes substantially no lowering in mechanical strength (such as impact resistance) which is inherent in a polycarbonate resin. The present invention provides a polycarbonate resin composition which includes (A) a polycarbonate resin, (B) an alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid, and (C) a fluorine-containing resin, and thereby the composition is superior in flame retardancy and various physical properties. Preferably, the salt of component (B) is an alkali metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid having from two to four carboxyl groups. Further, a flame retardant for a polycarbonate resin and a molded article of a polycarbonate resin are also provided.
