PURPOSE: An inhibitor of SARS-coronavirus 3CL activity and a composition containing the same for suppressing SARS-coronavirus 3CL activity are provided to prevent or treat SARS(severe acute respiratory syndrome). CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating SARS contains one or more compounds or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, hydrate, or ester thereof as an active ingredient. The compounds are selected from: 4-({[5-(1-naphthyl)-4-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-yl]thio}methyl)-1,3-thiazole-2-amine; 1-[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]-3-hydroxy-5-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-4-(4-isobutoxy-2-methylbenzoyl)-1,5-dihydro-2H-pyrrole-2-one; N-{1-({[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]amino}cabonyl)-2-[5-(3-nitrophenyl)-2-furyl]vinyl}-4-methylbenzamide; 4-[(2,4-dimethyl-1,3-thiazole-5-yl)carbonyl]-3-hydroxy-1-[3-(4-morpholinyl)propyl]-5-(3-nitrophenyl)-1,5-dihydro-2H-pyrrole-2-one, N-{1-({[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]amino}carbonyl)-2-[5-(2-nitrophenyl)-2-furyl]vinyl}-4-methylbenzamide; N-(1-{[2-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxybanzylidene)hydrazino]carbonyl}-2-phenylvinyl)benzamide; N-(2-furylmethyl)-2-{[5-(4-morpholinyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimido[4`,5`:4,5]thieno[2,3-c]isoquinoline-8-yl]thio}acetamide; and 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-3,5,7-trihydroxy-4H-chromene-4-one. |
