A cleaning assembly for a conveyor belt includes a first blade assembly, a second blade assembly, and a coupling mechanism supporting the first and second blade assemblies. The first blade assembly includes a first blade positionable into contact against a conveyor belt adjacent a turn portion of the belt. The second blade assembly includes a second blade positionable into contact against the belt downstream from the first blade.

1. A cleaner assembly for a conveyor belt comprising:
an axle; a first blade assembly pivotally mounted on the axle, the first blade assembly including a first blade for contacting a conveyor belt adjacent a turn portion of the belt; a second blade assembly pivotally mounted on the axle independent of the first blade assembly, the second blade assembly including a second blade for contacting the belt downstream from the first blade; wherein the first and second blades are biased toward one another by a biasing mechanism, at least a portion of the biasing mechanism being located between opposite ends of at least the first blade.
