摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for accurately measuring optical rotation of a measurement object having scattering property.SOLUTION: A blood glucose measurement device 1 comprises the following units. An optical device 7A comprises: a polarizing unit 20 (first polarizing unit) to prepare linearly polarized light as measurement light; an orthogonal separation unit 30 (second polarizing unit) for polarizing the transmitted light after the linearly polarized light from the polarizing unit 20 is transmitted through a measurement object having scattering property; and a light detecting unit 40 having two detectors 40A, 40B for detecting exiting light from the orthogonal separation unit 30. A rotation control unit 110 rotates the polarizing unit 20 to a regulated position where the polarization axis of the linearly polarized light is set to a regulated angle, and to a specific angle position where a detection result of the light detecting unit 40 satisfies a predetermined pole condition. An optical rotation calculation unit 120 calculates an optical rotation degree of the measurement object by using the detection result of the light detecting unit 40 at the regulated position, a detection result of the light detecting unit 40 at the specific angle position, and the regulated angle.
