PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoding method capable of enhancing the encoding efficiency.SOLUTION: An image encoding method comprises: first encoding step of generating a first decoded image by encoding and decoding an input image; and a second encoding step of generating a second code string by encoding the input image by using the first decoded image, and generating a second decoded image by encoding and decoding the input image. The second encoding step includes an intra prediction step of generating a prediction block for an object block by intra prediction. In the intra prediction, pixels included in the second decoded image are used as the upper and left reference pixels of the object block, and pixels included in the first decoded image are used as the right and lower reference pixels of the object block, thus generating the prediction block. |
