PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer capable of accurately printing a desired color even when the color is a specific color in which element ratio of one of three primary colors of the color is smaller than that of the other two.SOLUTION: An area 5F on which ink of a skin color F is coated is added to an ink ribbon 5, the skin color F being a specific color in which element ratio of C of three primary colors of the color Y, M, C is smaller than that of the other two. Color separation is performed to color image data to separate the color image data into the three primary colors of the color and the specific color. According to each element ratio of the colors to which the color separation is performed, an ink in each color of the ink ribbon 5 is independently heated and sublimated. The element ratio of the skin color F when the color separation is performed is increased to prevent heating temperature of the skin color F from being in the vicinity of sublimation start temperature of the skin color F. Thus, a desired color can be accurately printed even when the specific color is printed in which the element ratio of one of the three primary colors of the color is smaller than that of the other two. |
