PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which searches for a transcription factor having a novel function of increasing the plant body weight per individual plant, or the function of increasing the weight of a specific tissue per individual plant, or the function of increasing the productivity of a specific substance per individual plant, and improves such properties in a plant body.SOLUTION: The plant body weight per individual plant, the weight of a specific tissue per individual plant, the productivity of a specific substance per individual plant, or the content of a specific substance per specific tissue in a plant body can be increased via expression of a transcription factor which is so modified as to have a reduced transcription-promoting activity.
