PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardness tester that realizes reduction in size of the whole tester and can generate test force precisely.SOLUTION: A hardness tester includes plural weights 3, a transmission mechanism part for transmitting gravity acting on the weights 3 to an indenter, and a test force switching mechanism for switching the magnitude of test force. The weights 3 include hollow parts 31a to 34a penetrating in a vertical direction, and housing parts 31b to 34b each formed to be able to house a weight disposed immediately below. Outer tapered parts 31d to 34d are provided on the outer surfaces of the weights 3, and inner tapered parts 31c to 34c are provided on the inner surfaces of the housing parts 31b to 34b. The transmission mechanism part includes a shaft member 21, and a weight stopping part 22 housed in the lowermost housing part 34b to be able to stop a weight 34. The weight stopping part 22 includes a tapered part 22a for stopping the weight 34 to regulate movement of the weight 34 in a horizontal direction. A predetermined gap P is provided between the hollow parts 31a to 34a and the shaft member 21. |
