PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of reducing time to complete printing, when second sheet feeding means becomes available that can feed a sheet faster than first sheet feeding means during printing using the first sheet feeding means, by switching the first sheet feeding means to the second sheet feeding means to continue printing.SOLUTION: The printing device including a plurality of sheet feeding means 2-5 includes: a printing device body 1; and a sheet presence detection sensor 7 and a sheet size detection sensor 8 each of which is provided to each of the sheet feeding means 2-5. A printing control unit 11 of the printing device body 1 stores a sheet feeding speed of each of the sheet feeding means 2-5 in advance. While one of sheet feeding means 2-5 storing a specified size of sheet continuously feeds the sheet, when it is detected that more than one sheet feeding means 2-5 storing the specified size of sheet exists based on detection output from the sheet presence detection sensor 7 and the sheet size detection sensor 8, the printing control unit 11 controls the sheet feeding means 2-5 so that one of the feeding means 2-5 having the fastest sheet feeding speed feeds the sheet and a printing execution unit 17 to print. |
