发明名称 Improvements in or relating to absorption refrigeration systems, and control apparatus therefor
摘要 577,544. Refrigerating. STEVENS, A. H. (Gibson Electric Refrigerator Corporation). Dec. 1, 1943, No. 20080. [Class 29] [Also in Group XXIX] Absorption systems.-In a system in which the generator 10 is replenished with strong liquor intermittently from the absorption vessel 25, a transfer vessel 35 which is periodically placed in communication alternately with the absorber and generator is located so that liquor flows therefrom to the generator through a conduit 42, a valve-housing 36 and a conduit 46 by a siphon action. Weak liquor flows from the generator through a conduit 33 to a float valve 32 in the absorber vessel, from which depends a conduit 26, 28 having fins 27 exposed to cooling air. Vapour from the generator passes through an analyser column 13, rectifier 17 and pipe 18 to a condenser 19 and thence liquid is forced up to a receiver 21 and the evaporator 22. The vapour from the evaporator first passes through a coil 29 to cool liquor or vapour in a " pressure " vessel 37 and then enters at 30 the rising limb 28 of the liquor pipe and is absorbed. Part of the strong liquor rising through the limb 28 passes by way of a jacket 38 and pipe 39 to the pressure vessel, when a check valve 40 permits. The transfer valve 36 is actuated by the pressure of a thermal medium, preferably refrigerant solution of the same. concentration as that in the generator, in a bulb 50 in the generator and in a conduit 51 connected to the space outside a bellows 53 at the bottom of a valve rod 54. Liquor conduits 41, 44, 42 and a high-pressure gas conduit 45 are connected radially and a liquor conduit 43 axially to a removable cap 68 of the valve casing, while the conduit 46 to the generator is connected to a removable side fitting and the thermal medium conduit 51 is connected to a removable base cap 60, so that the valvehousing may be removed as a whole from the system for inspection &c. without disturbing the conduits. The sliding valve member 70 is pressed to its seat by spring plungers 77, and the valve rod has a collar 85 in the path of rollers 80 carried by a spring-pressed member 81 to ensure a snap action. The transfer action is as follows. When the generator temperature has risen sufficiently the pressure exerted by the thermal medium on the bellows 53 raises the valve and admits high-pressure vapour through conduit 45 to the conduit 43 and to the transfer vessel, which discharges liquor through conduit 42 and the valve-housing to the conduit 46. The thermal element 50 quickly cools and the valve is reversed to admit liquor to flow from the pressure vessel 37 and conduits 41, 42 to the transfer chamber from which vapour rises through conduits 43, 44 to the pressure vessel, where it is absorbed by residual liquor and by weak liquor bleeding through an orifice 49. Liquor flows from the jacket 38 through the check valve 41 into the pressure vessel and fills it, the check valve being closed as soon as the liquor entering through the orifice 49 builds up sufficient pressure.
