The present invention relates to a power factor correction technology, and a power factor correction circuit according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a power conversion circuit unit to convert external input voltage to an output voltage in a predetermined range by controlling inductor current according to a switching signal applied to a main switch; an imbalance detection circuit unit to output an imbalance state signal by using the inductor current when the external input voltage is in an imbalance state; and a soft start circuit unit to perform a soft start by controlling the switching signal when the imbalance state signal is outputted by the imbalance detection circuit unit.
